R.E.A.D. to Rizzo at the Sanibel Public Library
November 5 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Do you have a young reader who could use a confidence boost? Join us for the R.E.A.D. to Rizzo program at the Sanibel Public Library! This event is perfect for children of all ages who want to practice reading aloud in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Kids will get to read to Rizzo, a trained therapy and Reading Education Assistance Dog (R.E.A.D.), and enjoy the comforting presence of this fluffy, loveable canine companion.
Why R.E.A.D. to Rizzo?
- Boost Reading Confidence: Reading out loud can be intimidating for many children, especially those still developing their literacy skills. With Rizzo, a gentle and attentive dog, children can feel at ease. Rizzo listens without judgment, providing a calm and accepting presence that helps kids improve their reading abilities in a fun and stress-free way.
- Therapeutic Benefits: Therapy dogs like Rizzo offer more than just emotional comfort—they can help children relax and focus, making the learning experience more enjoyable. Studies show that therapy dogs can reduce anxiety, improve mood, and even make children feel more motivated to read.
- Interactive Experience: This event allows children to build a special connection with Rizzo, making reading something they look forward to. Whether your child is shy, nervous, or simply loves dogs, this unique program creates a memorable and positive experience.
- Exclusive Opportunity: Registration is required, so make sure to reserve a spot early! Email sgafgen@sanlib.org to sign up for a time slot. Space is limited, and this is a fantastic opportunity for your child to receive personalized reading time with the most loveable furry friend around.
